Many walks can be done from our front door. A suggested 7 day walking itinerary can be found on our blog

Visit Isle of Wight have also put together some walks click here  We also have walking books for you to borrow.

There are 2 walking festivals annually with guided walks around the Island in May & October.

Our favourite activity outside of eating and drinking is walking and it doesn’t get much better than the 514 miles of walking trails and bridleways on the Island. We have walking books available to purchase and drying facilities on request and we will also try to provide any information required. Shanklin is the beginning of the Worsley Trail which goes up on the Downs to the highest point on the Island and over to Ventnor.
Our Grid Reference is SZ58126 81006

Route Fifty7 in Shanklin offer bicycle hire, which can be delivered to our door. Booking in advance if highly recommended. The Island is full of easy cycling on the old railway lines, as well as more challenging routes. Some are not for the faint hearted!

Water Sports

You can't really come to an Island and not try SUP, surfing, sea kayaking or canoeing! There are surf schools in Lake, Sandown & Freshwater and SUP, jet skis, banana boats and pedelos are available on Shanklin beach front.

Bird Watching
